Interview with a recruiter
I have an interview with a recruiter for an internal position I applied to. Any idea what they ask? I am guessing technical questions are reserved for an interview with the hiring manager. Also my application status still shows applications received despite recruiter sending me interview invite. Is this one of those fake positions?
I was so bored so I passively interviewed
Within a month I got an offer with a 20% raise. I really didn't plan on leaving but I'm not wasting this opportunity. This is just to say that there are jobs out there, in case you were not applying thinking the job market had nothing to offer.
Interview - Internal Position
I been applying for several internal positions, and today I finally got an interview. E13 to E14. How do I know they are not interviewing me just to show HR that they interviewed enough people before promoting their team member. This job posting looked legit. Posted for 15 days. Hiring manager has 5 direct reports and all of them are already E14
I see no lies here

Applying for new job postings after getting the RIF
Does anyone know if you apply for an internal position and you have all qualifications to land at least an interview. Would they consider keeping you and doing a transfer or they just want you out for good?
Rehire after layoffs
Has anyone interviewed after a layoff? Was the process the same as external candidates or is there any difference in the interview process for those that were already with the company?
Has anyone from Integrated Services had any success interviewing internally?
I’m getting nowhere, looking outside of Ford.
Half of this place is looking for a way out
Let's run the numbers: how many people are actively interviewing? How many are updating their resumes? How many would take the first decent offer that came their way? I'd bet my next paycheck it's north of 40%. That's not a workforce, that's a waiting room.
Integrated Services
A whole bunch of people in Integrated Services are being asked to interview for jobs. The implication being, if you don't find a job you are no longer employed.
You can argue about the value of Integrated Services, but this is a cr-ppy way to treat people. It is sad that the company is starting to use these tactics.
This is what happens when consultants with very little real people leadership experience get to run the show.
Hitting a wall in the job search
I've been trying to find something new for months. I've got plenty of experience, but I can't get a single interview. Is age really that big of a factor? I'm 54.
Interviewing
Currently interviewing as an external hire. Does Humana dr-g test for THC? What if I have my medical mari--ana card?
Just got benched, what now
Was told last week I'm benched. Part of Bridge. The insurance customer funding us dried up several months ago. Should I have started applying last week? I'm hopeful I can placed internally.
I haven't interview prepped in years. I heard the job market is seriously different than when they were handing out jobs like candy during COVID. how cooked am I?
After four months of searching, I finally have an interview
It's been nearly two decades since I last interviewed. I'm thrilled and terrified at the same time.
Interview
Got a phone interview scheduled with another company for this Friday afternoon. The position is with a local oncology clinic. Starting pay pretty dang close to what I make now after ten years. I didn't take the VSP, and obviously haven't been notified if my position within EBOS is being cut as I guess that's supposed to happen within the next couple of weeks or so. But with all that going on in CC with seemingly no positive changes on the horizon, it might be wise for me to, in the famous words of Cobra Kai, "strike first." What do y'all think?
Interview Tips
Hey everyone! Does anyone have any recent job interview tips? It’s been a long time since I last interviewed, so I’m feeling a bit rusty. Please post some tips if you have any!
Did an interview in April - no offer yet, not rejected either
What is the reason for the holdup? This is for a corporate white collar role.
Fake interviews
I interviewed for a job and didn’t get it. Fine. But now it seems like I was just one of the minority candidates they had to interview so they could give the guy they wanted his new role. How do I know? I was talking to a guy who said he was “starting his new job soon” and later I found out it was the one they had me interview for. I don’t care who gets the job but don’t waste my time. Didn’t they already get sued for fake interviews?
Terrible offer, terrible process, terrible company!
I recently went through an interview process for a role in upstream. Not a normal process and the interviews some of the strangest I’ve ever had. I was asked for pay slips then after some months of radio silence was made an offer. The offer claimed Aramco is a “wealth building opportunity”, yet the package on offer was 30% less than my current comp. Seriously, who moves jobs for a pay cut? I politely refused!
Senior Business Analyst Position - 3 interviews all in NJ / NY area
I had a very bizarre interview yesterday. My city has an SMBC office. The job post mentioned my city in the description. My 3 interviewers were all from NJ / NYC area based on their LinkedIn profiles. They were ALL AWARE I am in a different city. In fact, one interviewer was the hiring manager.
Two things happened in the interview:
- 2 interviewers were late.
- For spending 45 minutes on the interview, one interviewer said she will talk to HR if I can be even considered.
Why did the interviewers waste my time? This is totally unprofessional.
Is Charter hiring?
I did my interview almost 6 weeks ago and I haven't heard back. This is for a role in their corporate office in Charlotte.
Help
Applied for a new position at another bank. I’ve made it through 4 interviews and waiting for a response. The weird part is they reposted the position online a couple of hours before I completed the 4th interview. I would think I would have received a decline before the reposted the position but I had not even completed the last interview yet. Is it a bad sign??? Has this happened to anyone?
I have done everything right and still have no offers
I keep my skills fresh, paid for a resume rewrite, network constantly, and still nothing after five months. The interviews I got went well and then they just stopped responding, which somehow hurts worse than a straight rejection. What else can I do?
Is it safe to accept a job offer from IBM?
I have two job offers that I am considering, and one is from IBM consulting services. Great company but with so many of the big firms laying off by the 10’s of thousands, it gives me pause to accept the IBM offer.
Any insights about job stability?
How often are layoffs in Richfield?
I'm interviewing in Richfield for a role. How is BBY doing? Do they layoff often? Which departments are are risk?
You have an internal interview scheduled…
You make contact with the hiring manager prior to the meeting and develop some rapport, identify some people in common, only to have an unlisted 3rd party join the Meet, who is inevitably some “distinguished” tw-t that throws curveball questions about things that were only discussed among the team in the last weekly meeting, and documented in a locked Google Doc. Indians hiring Indians.
Walmart Global Tech Talent Pool Process — Anyone Familiar?
Recently went through what turned out to be a fairly extensive hiring process with Walmart Global Tech. It started with an HR prescreen call, followed by a HackerRank technical interview with a Principal Engineer, and then I was flown to Bentonville for a full day in-person final round consisting of three separate sessions — coding on whiteboard, system design, and behavioral.
At the end of the in-person interview I was told that none of the three interviewers were the actual hiring manager. Instead my scores and evaluation have been uploaded to a talent pool system where multiple hiring managers can review my profile and reach out for intro calls if interested. I was told to expect contact within a week or two.
Has anyone at Walmart Global Tech been through this process — either as a candidate or as a hiring manager?
Specifically curious about:
- How active is the talent pool — do hiring managers actually pull from it regularly?
- What's a realistic timeline from talent pool entry to intro call?
- Does being in the talent pool prevent me from applying to specific reqs on the Walmart career site?
- Any general insight into how this process works internally?
bofa to wells
i'm at bofa and just interviewed for a role on this team but I'm worried after reading this post.

Job Application
Hi folks! I applied and landed an interview for an AI position. The hiring manager seems excited after our interview. What should I expect if hired? I was happy until I read some of these posts..but now I’m scared
On a major project, interviewing externally. What to do when I receive an offer?
Hi all, I am still pretty early in my career (4 yrs of experience) but I am on some major projects within my team and I am the only person who knows how to do certain things or navigate certain systems. I asked for plan on a pay raise mid last year since I am on 6-8 projects at a time and deliver quality every time plus efficiency gains, and it’s been crickets whenever I follow up. They only gave me a 5/5 on the review and 3% raise with a sh---y bonus. I know I’m worth more than that.
I am interviewing for different roles externally that will pay me 30-40% more and have a good feeling that I will receive an offer soon. Only problem for me is that I am not sure what to do when it comes to giving my 2 weeks notice. I really enjoy my colleagues and don’t want to put them in a rough spot because we are already stretched thin as a team. I want to prep in advance but find little time to document everything I do in its entirety to help with the transition for my teammates.
How would you navigate this situation? I am definitely taking a new job offer externally and not staying here since it’s left a bad taste in my mouth.
How Job Applicants Cheat Using Workday Interviews
Anybody noticed something suspicious interviewing people remotely during Workday?
On TikTok, they show videos of someone under the table of the person being interviewed with a second monitor and actual keyboard typing the answers using AI while the guy being interviewed pretends to be typing in front of the camera.
Is the hiring freeze for positions people are actively interviewing for
I have seen conflicting messages on this board. I understand they removed new postings, but I had a final interview scheduled next week and want to know if that position will still be hired?
Three interviews and a take home assignment, then a generic rejection email
I'm exhausted. I feel like I'll be stuck at SAP for good - or until I'm laid off - because the job market is atrocious.
Ghosting
I am so fed up with it, multiple rounds, assurance, ghosting - repeat. Multiple follow up, no ans. I can see the number in the signature, can I just jump on a call? How bad it could be? I really want to understand what changed after that point which was not noticed earlier?
Declaring layoff while interview
Hi, got laid off a month ago , on my garden leave, do you guys mention about your layoff while interview, I understand they would found out..and it's not about hiding, frankly if they specifically ask I would be truthful but otherwise if they found out later background check would that be a red flag?
Rehire after CPM interview
Has anyone returned to Intel after the layoff last year? How intensive is the interview process for engineers?
Consider reapplying to Intel because job market is tough
Taking control
I stopped waiting around after the last round of cuts, and I've been sending out resumes for weeks now. Got a call yesterday from a recruiter at a smaller firm. First interview is Thursday. I'm nervous but it feels good to be doing something instead of just waiting for my turn on the list.
Outplacement services option - Is it worthwhile?
There is an option to receive outplacement services as part of the severance plan agreement. Has anyone gotten this and is it worthwhile? I'm thinking it just covers resume creation & feedback, interview preparation, job search strategies, etc. Stuff I already did or are doing already but I wanted to compare notes with you all. Thanks!
Internal mobility
When do your manager find out if you have been speaking to an internal recruiter or interviewing?
Received an email from internal recruiter for a role two level higher than me.
But I don't want my manager to know I'm speaking to recruiter or going through the interviews until the offer is finalized.
Any thoughts?
