How bad does it need to get financially for Walmart to close a store?

@pd It’s actually called free enterprise. There’s a ton of examples where companies looked at closing locations for a host of reasons, for example, Applebees, Macy’s, Dollar Stores, Kroger, Publix, etc. if the location does not fit the prevailing or forecasted financial model, common sense says it should be closed. Including environmental or legal considerations. This is covered in any basic economics or business college course.

Don't worry about the financials. Just spread rumors about unionizing. The store will be closed under the pretext of a facility or environmental issue.

We open and close stores for numerous reasons. Existing stores could be closed due to an engineering or facility issue, lease or environmental issue, store replacement, drop in available customers, drop in cart size, change in market strategy, etc. We also add and close stores based on revenue goals.
