Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Clover

Does anyone actually believe that this is a good product that is competitive in market

They keep acting like it's going to save the company but all I continue to see is square cause merchants prefer it

How are we not bankrupt yet

Even if it takes off, it's only small businesses

@sb as part of the Clover team who's worked at several restaurant hospitality companies, I entirely disagree with this. Our platform is suitable at best for counter-service restaurants, and absolutely awful for table-service ones.

Resturant merchants prefer clover due to the rates per transaction. Far more convenient for the merchants than toast and square. Ecosystem wise, Clover has been little by little catching up and improving. They do what they can with the resources provided compared to competitors with over 4k employees. Clover dont get that type of support from fiserv.

On the other hand even if fiserv injects more resources, there are administrative issues where people in Sunnyvale neglect to work with others in different locations and that needs to be checked and rectified. They raised the product, I get it, it is their baby but that attitude hurts the growth of the product and professionally hurts other good Engineers.

After the merger investment in Clover ended. It was all Frank, people, everything else is just a distraction.

I've heard nothing but complaints from 2 merchants I use. One is a dental office that has Zero support and had no idea Care Credit is now supported. Problem is they also have no idea that you need to activate the access, not Fiserv.

Typical FB move: buy a product instead of dropping in-house and once you have it never spend the money to make it better. Clover was better than most then the others caught up and eventually surpassed it. FB never spent money. He just put it in his pocket.

@OP clover used to be best of class, but since Fiserv took over, it has become stgnant and fallen behind. Morale has been destroyed, the culture has been stripped. Bought a Ferrari and turned it in to VW.
