I've watched some of our best engineers leave for rivals. Nobody's even counteroffering. It's like they don't care.

It’s not like they don’t care.
They really don’t care.
@zc Isn’t this evidence to you that it’s all about money? It isn’t about employees. It isn’t about the customer. It’s just about the money. They don’t care about anything else.
They are circling the drain. It’s just a matter of time before they sell or go bankrupt. Their massive debt of $5 billion is due next year. And all of the investigations happening. It’s slowly going to keep declining. Losing more business than they are taking in.
No one that is not close to retirement should be employed there.
Management sees every departure as cost savings, not losing experience. The shared services model is failing just like capability managment and squads, but they don't see it since the degeneration is slow.
w/ what? they made me an offer to convert that was so laughably low i don't know how they hire anyone. how d-mb i was to accept this contact and try something new.
They don't care. I'm on a call for a couple functional areas, one area - 365x24, the other one every 3 wks. I've been asking about this for over 2yrs.
Then on top of that, add a customer that questions your ability to do your job. I put it as a hostile work environment. Mgmt days one thing, but doesn't follow through.
Every meeting feels like a battle, cuz the customer is snarky. I don't do it back, cuz my Momma raised me well.
Accounts would rather pay the contract penalty than fill a vacant position. The other side of that strategy is over-worked and unqualified staff trying to fill the gaps. Quality and morale suffers, and so on and so on.
Going to be sold soon.
Must cook the books and show cost reduction/ value capture.
Gainwell is such a mess. The only people that should continue working for Gainwell are those close to retirement. Everyone else should vacate the organization.
do more with less
You need to have a brain, to stop the drain.
@OP I had a similar discussion with a coworker the other day. Accounts aren't even bothering to replace key billable personnel anymore. It's as if management has thrown in the towel.
