RTO - Week 1

Anyone else think a significant number of employees are not following the 4 day RTO? While I saw more people in the Adams building this week. Hardly anyone from my team did 4 days.

People that were laid off from State Street

I would like to hear stories from people who were laid off or quit State Street. Treat these as cautionary tales to keep future hires or current employees more informed. When I joined State Street more than a decade ago; I noticed a lot of people... — read more

family of laid offs

It has been 3 years since I left Statestreet. I didn't bother to write about this. My mother worked in fund accounting for 18 years, was laid off right before she retired. 4 people in India failed at taking over her job, so they called her back. Let... — read more

Today's Ask Ron - heard there were fireworks

I skipped today's call because I wasn't in the mood to hear Ron 's BS about back to the office. I heard though that someone laid into him and it all went downhill from there . Anyone here dial in?

No salary increase for over 10 years at SST

I only received one salary increase for over 10 years at SST. Most of the collogues in my department have the same misery life at STT. With effective inflation going over 10%, SST is holding employee as hostages which I believe is seriously violating... — read more

My year free from state :) update

I’m thriving. Left state a year ago for a new job, I’ve received two large raises this year at the new company, and have gotten more respect and responsibility/say than I ever had over a decade at state Boston. State will forever be the most... — read more

How to survive this company?

I've worked here nearly 3 years in total and I can't stand it. It's completely changed how I view the world and ruined me mentally, physically, and emotionally. The managers are heartless clowns and I'm surrounded by stupidity. I refuse to quit... — read more

This much overwork is not okay

I notice that the management's "main job" is not only to terribly overwork us, but also to convince us that it is not much work at all. In other words, we are bad employees. How do you deal with this much stress?

Where did all the job postings go?

Anyone know what is going on? Went to apply for a job posted last week and noticed almost all opened regs are gone. Only 1 in Quincy and 70 in Boston. That is down from close to 400 the week before.

Labor union at State Street Corporation?

This might sound crazy, but has there been any attempts from employees forming a labor union at State Street Corporation? I know Wells Fargo employees made some attempts. But I couldn’t find any articles online to unionize at State Street Corp. I... — read more

Leveling is out of level

How many times can a company say the layoffs are related to reducing the layers of the reporting structure? Yes that is a rhetorical question. I see an increase in EVP and SVP level positions reporting into the same level. Why is this happening with... — read more

How does the Talent Pool work

Anyone have any idea how the talent pool works? We were told this week that our MD just got added and I have no idea what that entails. I know it means they are on their way out, but what are the ins and out? Guy is still in his office everyday... — read more

Bonus payout date?

Has anyone been notified yet of their bonus and when the payout is? Asking because I need a start date for my new job next month :)

This bank has the worst technology.

TCP results

Finished off my team’s TCP and for anyone who tend to get their hopes up, this year wasn’t anything special. My manager reiterated the same thing with me during my one on one with him. Minimal decrease in both merit & bonus for my staff. I have no... — read more

State Street pays well below market

Just heads up, I was not as aware of this until I started interviewing, receiving offers and working elsewhere-looking back at State open positions: State Street pays well below market. Just FYI

401K Benchmarking Exercise - Assistance Requested

I currently work at BNY Mellon. Our CEO recently announced a change to the 401K plan. Currently our company match (max 7%) is implemented each pay period. Starting in 2023, the match will be paid at the end of the year (actually, three months after... — read more

State street and BBH deal - what happens now?

Since the act of acquiring BBH flopped, I am sure at this point BBH is desperate for more employees since a lot have left in anticipation of the takeover. But ultimately they are so small that I can see them being a target in the future. and STate... — read more

IT Salary Bonkers …… HOW??????

I’m two years out of college and at the moment earn 55,000 per year. A recruiter contacted me a few weeks ago and I ended up applying for a systems engineer role. They’ve come back and offered me the job but the salary is 165,000 per year, I’m so... — read more

State Street Layoffs 2023

This thread is for info about potential State Street layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

We shouldn’t hate on HB1 and Offshore workers

Public service announcement: I see a lot of resentment towards HB-1 and offshore workers. They are not the bad guys. I bet most of us would do the same if given the opportunity. In most cases the foreign workers don’t know that they are replacing... — read more
