Rumor has it that all STLs must report to their regional office and then be the opening leadership in the store the next morning for some big announcement. Any STLs know anything about this? Or have any sort of inclination of what it could be about?

@1d7 I'm imagining that a lot of prepared foods, bakery and produce staff will be furloughed along with their managers because the store is merging into two teams - perishable and non perishable with two managers for those departments
Severance packages will be 1 weeks worth of pay for every six months worked up to 20 weeks worth of pay. Medical insurance for six months after the layoffs.
Who will the 15% be?
It's going to be layoffs at store level due to "being over staffing guidance" with the implementation of UKG Pro and completion of the Amazon merger. Except about 15% of store staff to get severance packages.
Whatever comes is what it is the company doesn’t care beyond profits. You don’t matter and should act as such. Do your job but beyond that it doesn’t matter.
In the past month 2 STLs and 2 ASTLs have put in their resignations in my metro. I have worked with them for a decade + and this comes as a shock to me. They were the ones who worked hard and climbed to their positions. I tried to talk with them about it but they are closed lip about it more than likely they are on a non disclosure agreement. Whatever is coming is bad for all.
Probably need be ready the following day to stab everyone in the back with a smile on their face. Leadership is not your friend they are the enemy of the store staff and should be treated as such.
