Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Chevron cheers fourfold profits boost

"Surging oil and gas prices drive Chevron to $12 billion in adjusted earnings, quadrupling last year's results."

Come on Chevron, invest in employees...they are doing more for less and still making pre-covid wages! What is the incentive for employees to do more for the company? Keeping the workforce held down...

@b2

You have assessed enough employees and their productivity, across the enterprise, to be able to assert that as fact?

If yes, you haven't been doing enough of your own work. If no, you are a liar, lamely attempting to denigrate your co-workers for no good reason.

Which is it, chief?

@b2 believe me, the majority of us are doing far more with less versus pre-covid era and especially post re-org. You, must be a wage thief making it harder on the rest of us who have to work harder to make up for your laziness

@bv
I like that phrase, "blind squirrel." :)
It is so true.
I saw MW on the CNBC and he stated, "Chevron has bought back 75% of the stock that issued for the Hess acquisition." Talk about buying Hess at the right time as the price of Petroleum was boosted by the Iran war. Trump did CVX a "solid" on the timing of the Iran war.

They say even a blind squirrel occasionally finds an acorn. The Iran war and the crude oil price jump dropped a huge chunk of revenue into CVX, No doubt executive bonuses will soar despite this being completely external to any effort on their part.
