I am so worried. My husband needs our medical coverage very much. I love my job, my role, my peers, my PL. I have been so happy for over a decade. I get good annual reviews and am worried if they go by dollars, I might be on the higher end of my pay scale and therefore easy to be picked to layoff?? Punished for being a good employee for a long time. Wouldn’t that be something. 😔

HR may recommend options but it’s your leadership team that decides who goes and who stays. HR (and accounting) doesn’t get close enough to the work to know the impact of the decisions and they don’t ah e to manage through the consequences.
they can let me go instead. I could only be so lucky if they let me go! Praying for you.
Do you think if people that started less than a year ago are at risk as well? I am not sure
@OP No good deed goes unpunished. Hope all works out for you.
I am a top performer in my team, and I am definitely nervous. My team leader has expressed that there is a RANKING with low performers as the candidates for layoffs. However, HR does not always go by that ranking. The last time we had any layoffs in my team, the laid off employees were in fact at the bottom of that ranking. Nothing is guaranteed though.
1st on the cut list will be folks that did not meet expectations in March of this year. If you did not meet - that's a red flag for cuts.
@OP have you talked to your PL about where you rank among the team? Also curious if others have had those conversations. There seem to be a lot of people ready to go so hoping the PLs take that into consideration. Prayers you get to stay!
