Was fortunate to eventually land another position. Trying not to take anything for granted and always keep my resume updated. Hope all of you are doing well.

@eq I've not found pay to be better outside of tech. In fact it's a HUGE pay cut. There has been a large salary readjustment and RTO policies across the board. Highly paid jobs + remote aren't really a thing anymore. So the lucky few that still have both are extremely lucky. But I'd be worried how long one could hold on to it.
A year after too and was just keeping an eye out on layoffs. Landed another role within a short period, and looking back I can’t get over what a toxic culture it is in cisco, which I haven’t realised at the time as it just became normal. And pay is considerably lower that other companies.
So glad I got rid of that place.
Why not do that once you are laid off ... or laid off + "me time for a few weeks"?
People shouldn't just be keeping their resumes updated, they should be occasionally doing interviews for what appear to be better options. Despite the popularity of layoffs in technology for decades it still carries a stigma and it also reduces what you can negotiate for salary and benefits after the fact.
Job market is getting better y’all. Pay is better than Cisco.
always keep my resume updated.

Congrats for achieving what most on this site believe is the impossible. You were able to get another job with Cisco on your résumé 🤣
