Fifth Third Bank is implementing further workforce reductions in the Detroit area following its acquisition of Comerica Bank. The bank recently informed the state of its intention to eliminate 234 positions at the former Comerica Operations Center in Auburn Hills. These latest layoffs are scheduled to take effect by September 11. This brings the total number of job cuts related to the merger to over 700 in Michigan.
