Rumors flying that employees will be called back to the office soon. What are you hearing?

It's called a "Talent Hub" and if you live within 50 miles, of any of the 6 or so TH, it's RTO. Also, this is a requirement for new hire too.
@k1 Totally agree. This part will not be said out loud, lest people cry unfairness, but they will leave it to team leader’s discretion as to whom is required to return to the office. And simply use RTO as another lever to get selected persons to quit.
And because it will be a precision operation designed to go after a select bunch, it will not require very much office space at all to accomplish this strategy.
You don't need a lot of office space for a hybrid environment especially with the half-desks they were filling 8 and 10 with before covid. Additionally you don't need a ton of space if your goal is attrition. They will likely rescind the RTO about 90 days after the announcement if they meet their goal. And obviously it isn't everyone but it is coming.
You have to have the buildings and the seats to put the people and they don’t have enough anymore.

Yes. They will use an RTO hybrid style mandate as a "soft" RIF to weed out anyone who didn't take the ERP or wasn't RIFd out earlier this year. They expect a high number of employees will quit if asked to return which is a win in their eyes.
Depending on the area and the role, they already require some people be within communicable distance of a hub office.
I think they’re moving in that direction, but I doubt it will be a very large scale RTO any time soon
