Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Even free pizza couldn't bring people into the office today.

Today at the office in Tempe they were going to have a pizza party for the upcoming conversion and everyone both in office and remote declined attending. It is kinda sad and funny.

I always go in to the office when JR is there because she is hot

When JR moved us to the plaza, one of her directs attempted to host a pizza party to welcome us to the rat infested plaza. He ordered enough for about 1/2 slice per person. We still laugh about it along with him being demoted from an EVP and sent to west side flats.

Old management trick. It is a technique to reinforce your dependency for food from the company. Slaves depend on their masters for food. This is no different except you have illusion of freedom.

Get self respect. Boycott. Only way out of wage slavery is financial freedom .

I feel sorry for those who fall for the free food trap. No raises but here is a slice of pizza.

It seems they're doing this throughout the hubs. Ours is scheduled for several leadership events lasting an hour or more in a single day, but don't worry, there's free food!

Unless that food comes with a bar of gold on the side, there ain't no way on God's green earth that I am wasting half my work day, which I would absolutely be expected to make up elsewhere in the week, on "networking" with leadership who have gone above and beyond they don't care about us.

After skimps on raises last year, they’ve transitioned to pizza parties to make it better. We’re now officially fu---d….this ships heading down the sh----r.

Good. Pizza parties are acceptable at a small startup with very little expendable money and not at a big a$$ Fortune 500 one with plenty of money to throw around. Proud of ya Phoenix!!

I boycott any invite for events with food or meetings with MC or Division Leaders.
They make me sick.

If they offered booze, I would attend, drink, grab food and go back home

Sc--w these people treating us like garbage. MCs are making millions, while they monitor us and offer us ice cream.

Proud of everyone boycotting. Licking boots won’t prevent layoff. Show them we arent their slaves

I've refused to participate in a single food offering or a potluck in the last 2 years.

I don't want the germs from other people's homes and I don't want their sh---y cold pizza. What I DO want is not to be tracked and monitored and babysat or told how often I need to be in a desk in an office.

But wait! Assigned seating will absolutely fix it. 🙄

The food thing was never appealing to me. Give me a raise for all the work that piled on over the years. Morale is so low that stupid food offerings just sound distasteful. No one cares about forced collaboration lunch bs.

Honestly the heavy-handed approach has poisoned the well so much. If they had used a carrot to bring people into the office more I would have been so down to show up voluntarily when there was any potential for actual collaboration (which is extremely rare in my position.) I'm not a hermit.

But instead they went with a stick and ruined my positive attitude about the whole office experience. Now I make it a point to avoid anything I can at the office other than meeting bare minimums.

You guys are getting pizza parties?! In Minneapolis we only get occasional lunch leftovers from senior manager meetings
