anyone have experience working with an attorney to negotiate your severance package? trying to see if this is worth my while. also leadership is threatening not to allow me to use my vacation time during the last two weeks, even though the language in the severance paperwork is vague and says vacation/sick cannot "typically" be used during your last 2 wks..work with your PL if "unique" situation. Thanks all. I am so ready to be done with this mindf*ck of a place.

They say that so they can properly close you out in that 2 weeks, financially. To save you and them the back and forth between payroll to make any last minute adjustments. If you already have it on the books, you may be fine. But anything not yet approved, may require discussions.
@a4 its not so much about the money, its about the details that its in the letter that can impact you. Rather review that letter with an attorney than to be sorry later.
You can request for them to let you keep it if it was already scheduled / an important date. However if youre trying to take additional it is pretty normal for them to not approve that.
Not worth your while. If you are in a "right-to-work" state, don't mistake that for a "right-to-severance" - that doesn't exists. And if you are in some other state, they'll give you what the las requires and no more. It's also a condition of your package, and also of voluntarily leaving, that nukes your vacation in the last two weeks. Take it now, all that you have and all that you can.
