Hi everyone! Been in seat for a couple of years in the sales side. I’ve been dreading work, and frankly want to be part of the layoffs. How can I position myself?

How to be part of the layoff?
At your next team meeting keep posing inane questions like this one and you will be good to go!
I’ve told my manager I want to be on this round. They know I’m not happy and taking a pay cut thanks to years with little to no focals. I’m right at the 2-months notice period for Czechia, so I’d get my last big stock collection no matter what. 10 months severance would be a dream.
@ay Well, in your case your manager now knows he can get a 2 for 1 deal.
Select a colleague who will get severance and then you leave for free by retiring.
Your manager then gets a bonus for saving money on severance and 2 salaries.
Sadly, those who say they want to leave are rarely chosen. They prefer you quit without getting a payoff package as it's cheaper.
You could find yourself managed out via a PIP.
@c7 Check your state's unemployment laws. Some states will deny unemployment for the length of time of your severance (ie, if you got 12 weeks of severance, you may not be eligible for unemployment until after that 12 weeks is up). You should still apply when you're let go, but don't expect any checks if you're in certain states.
The best time to find a new job is when you have one, start looking and do NOT retire, make them give you 'the package', you will get more $$ and be able to get unemployment if you like. I'm doing this, don't need the $$ but not going to let this sh-tshow company get away with how many of us were treated. Unemployment is $2K/month or so while you look for a new gig, looking means posting 2 jobs a week that you have applied for. Easy peasy and the resulting ~$800 every 2 weeks is gravy if you were smart enough to plan ahead.

@ae Such a great song!
I told my manager to put me on the list and that if it doesn’t happen this time I’ll be retiring. We’ll see what happens. I know others have done this as well.
When you say it's gonna happen now
When exactly do you mean?
See I've already waited too long
And all my hope is gone

If you want out, you need to be a poor performer. Although no one likes to admit it, almost all layoffs target those at the bottom, those who bring nothing. Tank your performance and you should be part of the next batch of unemployment-maxxers.
@a9 that’s right. OP should actively take thecresponsibilty and find a new job. Each day longer at O is just frustrating and worth no money.
You are probably too late for the next round. You can leave any time that you want. Go find you next job and take it. Trying to time a layoff payout, which will likely be far less each time, is a dangerous game. You should really focus on getting your next job first. A couple of years on the job isn't going to get you much of a payout.
Just go to your m5+ director and imply.
