Meaning, we're so sc--wed. It's not even about being laid off, but if everybody is doing, where the he-l are we supposed to find new jobs?

While AI will replace a lot of jobs that require repetitive tasks that can be automated it will not replace the need for human workers to hand off work to that reaches a logical human hand. News stories and the internet would have you running for the hills when its just not a reality. Will some jobs be impacted yes. But, it was no different than when robotics were introduced into the auto manufacturers. The trick is to adapt. Learn what LLMs do. Learn how you can become the human in the room when AI needs to hand off. I get it. Its scary. But there isn't one person who is working today that can't grow with the AI changes and continue to prosper. First thing to do is simply learn how to prompt. Use AI to help you refine your resume should you choose to look elsewhere. Then learn how the various AI tools that are out now work and what they are used for and what problems they help solve. Chances are you will gravitate to a particular one and decide to deep dive into it.
I guess all that blabbering was just to say don't panic. Its not as bad as they would have you believe.

Stop complaining and up-skill yourself to compete in the new economy. I'm sure workers at the advent of the Industrial revolution said the same thing.
