Say no to GP Project Assignments

If your career is not owned by GP then you should NEVER accept a role where you will be ranked with GP. For example a project assignment. They will use you to fill the bottom of the rank group and protect their own. They do not value the contributions of anyone who is not from GP.

@x0 and then a couple years later your supervisor is moved and you are PIPed. Better to just leave this company.

Go where you already have a good relationship with the Supervisor.

Going onto a Project with a tight team and you will become the PIP sacrifice even if you outperform over half the team.

Hard Lesson Learned.

Where is this magical group in EM that we don’t have to avoid? Many posts about how toxic (fill in The blanks here - Uncon, GP, EMTech, etc) a particular group is.

FYI I’ve been in GP now for a few years but still belong to a technical job family and it’s been no better or worse than when I was in the function. Same or better assessments, for instance.
Same circus, different clowns.

Who runs this magical GP. So
Many groups built on a house of cards here. Safety, IT/CX . Where does vantage fall into all of this. If you have no sponsor here get the experience and run.

Happened to me as well. Stay away from GP roles unless your career is owned by GP.
