@kx Absolutely 100%! I had an Indian manager in my location in the states, who did exactly that. And....God forbid anyone complained about incompetence and poor work ethic his hires brought to the table, it would always be turned back around on me. In part, I'm pretty sure...to me being a woman. I worked there for decades and they are now a toxic joke I'd love to forget.

Vivek did already explain clearly to everyone that Americans lacked intellectual capacity for this kind of work. They are useless, hopeless, d-mb. They like sports, partying and drinking; and they are simply unable to study STEM subjects. Therefore, Indians must keep coming to the USA — more with each passing year — to save this nation from intellectual, and perhaps even physical, calamity. Next time you see an Indian engineering manager, keep this in mind and thank him or her profusely for saving your country. And please consider that their taking away your job, roof over your family’s head, food, car, health care, pride, freedom, and your future are the price many, many Americans will just have to pay for the privilege of being saved from their own ignorance. The faster you accept this reality, the easier it will be for you and your family to reconcile your exaggerated expectations with the prevailing world view. If you still might have any questions, I think posing them in next global Town Hall might further illuminate the matter. It would be interesting to hear the CEO and Head of HR elaborate on this question.

Look at the on shore India managers at WF. They hire 70% male Indians. American citizens are now the token hires.

@kn The whole reason they come on H1B is because they can't make a living over there. The market is too saturated.

Add to that that you aren't a citizen and not the right caste for the hiring manager, and you are doomed to be unemployed there.

@fh It tells me that most of the responses are from non-Wells Fargo folks. So basically xenophobic outsiders who are just venting. Wells Fargo employees may be a grumpy lot but we don't trash talk the people we depend on.

And that's the rub. A broken clock is right twice a day. If you work with enough teams of them, you will eventually come upon ones that DO speak English well and ARE respectful of local culture.

I've worked in multiple corporations that participated in outsourcing and from my data alone and others in my industry, I would say about 10-20% of them are "average or better". That means most of the time you are getting the 80-90% that are mumblers, can't do the work, sc--w up English, or take too many holidays and weddings and have to be carried in a project.

A few Indian coworkers I had here are smart and hard working.

I might as well be working in India right now in Chandler where the breakroom smells like curry and all the Indians in the hallway are speaking Hindu to each other.

@fh If there native tongue is Indian meaning they were not born in the US then they speak English in there accent which means they might as well speak their own language. Many many people comment on the same thing. They lack awareness in whether they are communicating or just speaking. Does the receiver understand what you are saying. Barely but that goes for senior leadership (they are better but not great)

However, there is no excuse for not adopting bathroom hygiene with an awareness that you are NOT in India and it is culturally not accepted. If it was okay to not flush to save water in their country would that be the case here to?

@ap I don't know who you are calling but the india side of our team is very competent and communicates well in English. They are critical to the smooth operation of our technology. Which group are you referring to?

Of all things we complain about at WF, our Technology has to be the worst. This was true before Charlie. It has always been an embarrassment at WF.

I do contracting to WF. Almost all the local folks I work with are clueless and they keep pinging me for basic things like how to do git push , what’s OCP and how to list pods. Some of the Indians contractors are the same, except locals can speak better English. Rest are the same, as per technical knowledge. Idk how these guys have lead and senior engineer titles

All the better to take the hiring salary kickbacks. I wonder if the Indian hiring managers here have parents in India who suddenly have new phones and cars.

@ap JFC, I just wish the English skills were there. I can forgive technical skills since they are a mess in the industry, but the English has got to be there. There are other foreign countries I've worked with who possess good English skills and are honest. Its a night and day difference working on projects with them versus Scamdia.

India, where IT Competence and English skills go to die...
