Been here almost 6years. But the last 4years have been really bad due to toxic manager/work environment in general.
Especially, with the rto mandate when my own manager works rto every Friday and some of my co workers have not been in the office for weeks.
I have been thinking of quitting. But if there's a plan for another lay off, I'll stick around til it happens for severance + unemployment.
Any hints?
I don’t think DE would lay people off in this economy.
Every meeting with WBD has 3x more people from their side. Absolutely more to cut over there
i spoke to someone who told me there are no planned large layoffs through end year .. unless movement is made on the merger .there could be restructures called layoffs .post merger - the deal being discussed keeps the film production units separate but there was no discussion of how long that was guaranteed to be CBS will operate as it has been major layoffs in streaming and cable channels DE has been very friendly with HBO max leadership and they have reassured their teams - grain of salt
I’d be surprised if there were any layoffs before the merger closes. They know the AGs will use that against them. If the merger had happened this year, there would certainly have been layoffs as the teams merged.
I genuinely believe the layoffs will affect WBD staff more than Paramount, as we’ve been reducing headcount more aggressively than WBD over the years.
As for which teams it will affect, I’d say every team, but especially Cable and Streaming.
