So the company don’t wanna hire anyone let alone let people go on pto because no coverage? Make that make sense! And with all of these college students leaving how are they going to get things done!? Can someone help!?

What H.R.? They got rid of that position years ago. So you have no one advocating for associates. Good luck.
@b4 Lol. What HR? And what is this friendship you speak of? Seems like nobody can be trusted within Sams Club. And apparently your vacation and PTO time are clearly now dictated by managers. So they can tell you when you are allowed to go now, or use time off. Next there will be scheduled potty breaks and assigned seats in the break room.
Talk to HR, they are your friends and will help.
