Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Has anyone been asked to withdraw their VSP?

Has anyone had management ask them to withdraw their VSP? I'm curious whether the company has approached anyone about staying instead of separating — particularly people with a September 4, 2026 exit date.

I’m pretty sure that “ no changes “ rule is gonna have to be broken by many . I can tell you some of the hardest working highest producing people in my area took the VSP … and people seeing that were not happy about it. And yes some people will be or have been approached about not taking the VSP by management . I’m sure they’re gonna
Have to make a case for it through HR etc and who knows how it’s all going to play out .. but I’m definitely keeping an eye on it

I was told by my PL that I could withdraw my VSP but that it had to be very soon. My separation date is far out into next year and I am hoping that there won't be retailation if I don't withdraw. I am mentally done with everything and ready to go and this whole situation blows.

My director asked me to withdraw. I declined the first time but then found out I had a march 2027 separation date. They asked again and I agreed.

@OP yes! We are allowed to withdraw and some have been asked if they would like to stay. I personally am ready to leave so I am NOT withdrawing anything. I wish they would just let me go ahead and GO!

During the extension in July when HR sent the email notifying people they can withdraw their VSP my manager did ask me to withdraw. I declined to withdraw and now my separation date is mid 2027...

During a meeting last week, our health plan CEO told us that at least 3 people had withdrawn their VSP applications, and he expected another 2 to withdraw their applications, so it is definitely happening somehow. I guess it is on a case-by- by case basis. He also directly asked one of my coworkers to stay on through May 2027 and she said no and was given the 9/4 date.

@OP I personally today, was asked in a private email from my manager that I can withdraw but not guaranteed and would need to be reviewed individually based on business needs. I had a November 2027 Separation Date. Also email states that previous request for withdrawal have been approved already after seperation dates went out.

The dedicated phone line is closed so that is a NO on being able to back step it.

I know where a Director requested and was approved like the rest of us in the vsp line. The PL asked if she would reconsider and she did then one team member who was safe for now was RIF immediately.

@ab one could withdraw within that window in July but no one could withdraw once the approval email came out in August.

A member on my team did not have a manager ask them to withdraw but they did withdraw their VSP and it was approved.

Nobody has been asked to withdrawal their VSP. That window already closed. Leadership has no say in changes being made moving forward.

That would be interesting to know if someone was asked. We cannot withdraw ourselves or even request a new date to be released.
