Didn't realize they still had guards. The build I worked in was in the city, about 8 stories tall, no idea how many employees... One of those classic old Bell buildings with marble floors and marble bathroom stalls. The guard was still there checking id's in the 1990's, but was gone at some point before we hit 2000.
And it should be pointed out, the few windows on the 1st & 2nd floors were bricked up long before that... And the wall out side the front door where everyone smoked, was full of bullet holes from the yahoo's exiting the multiple bars on the other side of the street at 2am. (Pics of the front entrance used to be a regular on the local News") Most of which occurred after the hip hop bar opened up beside the Coyote Ugly type bar next store, that had a Goth bar on the 3rd floor. Yeah, not exactly folks that saw eye to eye. Our building was staffed 24/7... you just learned to stay inside after dark... especially after the security team was gone and there was no one on the 1st fl watching the camera's to call 911 if you went down.

Get some dog spray from the store room. You will be fine.

@b0 they are there to protect the Lake Mary Halloween cube decorations. A lot of time and effort is put into this productive activity and the work must be protected.

Have you seen the "security" guards? Not sure what a 74 year old woman is going to do when someone shows up with the intent to do harm. And yes, Dan has a personal security team. All of the "leaders" have had security details. It aids in inflating their ego.

@ct Why am I not only the COT at the central office, but by default the mailman, watch engineer, fire marshal, janitor, community representative, etc? Funny, but I'm not getting seven paychecks. Do you sit at BR and make useless excel charts all year long?

@db Had to look that one up. DOJ confirms the names and what they do.

Actually it was 2022, not 2021, when the number of border crossings for people from China increased. Apparently most claimed they were seeking asylum so they were released into the country and asked to come to court later. I wonder if they showed up?

2021: 450 encounters
2022: 2,180 encounters
2023: 24,314 encounters
2024: 38,246 encounters

I'm not seeing anything that looks concerning. Do you?

Major Hacker Groups

Salt Typhoon: Focuses on major telecommunication and broadband provider compromises globally, enabling deep communications and metadata interception.

Volt Typhoon: Specializes in pre-positioning inside critical infrastructure (such as communications and military hubs in Guam and the U.S.) to potentially disrupt services during a geopolitical crisis.

APT41 (Double Dragon): Conducts state-sponsored espionage alongside financially motivated cybercrime, targeting healthcare, high-tech, and telecommunications.

APT31: Operates under front companies for the Hubei branch of the MSS, conducting spear-phishing campaigns against political figures, defense contractors, and critics.

APT27 (Emissary Panda): Known for long-term campaigns targeting government, defense, and technology sectors worldwide using customized malware and watering-hole attacks.

Tactics

Private Contractors: Operations increasingly rely on private security front companies and contractors rather than direct military units to obscure attribution.

Living off the Land: Groups heavily use legitimate administrative tools already present on target networks to blend in with normal system activity and evade detection.

AI Integration: Recent intelligence highlights state-linked actors experimenting with open-source AI agents to automate discovery and exploit vulnerabilities faster

Nothing to worry about. Just making it easier for Volt Typhoon, Salt Typhoon, APT27, APT31 and APT41 to gain access. They came into the US around late 2021 so they could set up everything needed in the field. Prepare for more outages once they are inside the buildings. They have already disrupted a few other industries with small tests. When the time is right, they'll set the plan in motion and we will be blind long enough for them to accomplish their goal.

It's a good thing we aren't cutting any essential personnel where the equipment is.

Right?

RIGHT?

Don't you worry ...Dan has 4 bodyguards at all times, and 2 rotating armored SUV. So, no... his security is not being pulled.
