Project unity celebration

Just seen there was a celebration of project unity in the UK with Shannon Bell. I am not sure this migration could have been anymore of a sh-t show. I previously spent 30% of my week chasing approvals (that in 4 years I have never not had one approved or declined for my error). I now spend 95% of my week on approvals, but yeah let's celebrate the sh-t show, senior people should lose their jobs for this incompetence.

@our servicenow deployment is junk. It's so bad. Have you tried to search for knowledge or docs.. it's caveman stuff. It's also ridiculously customized. I've used it on another company two years ago so much slicker. You have to remember you have heros with jobs that deployed this muck. Panicking they'll be found out.. otsm will deliver
I love the new search on the portal. It's so modern and finds what we want.. so it's not all. Bad..

@102 Microfocus, while far from ideal, was nowhere as terrible as OTEX.

As a HPE->MF->OTEX veteran, I would welcome a return of MF management. It was not ideal, but it was far from the malevolent id--ts of OTEX. It also did not try to move everything to India, and drive off native talent.

MF bit off more than it could chew, but did not actively destroy products and teams. OTEX bit of more than it could chew, and thought it could recover with cheap labor and AI fairy dust.

Now it's time to change the name from OpenText to MicroFocus, because that is what the company has become.

@mr There's a difference between rough launch and a ticketing system issue.

Ex. ServiceNow does work, but buying accounts/contacts is a thing we'd rather not do. Why we made our own. It also has one major issue the people who do cases (but tasks can do this too) see - under some conditions it just will not update you on when a response is given. This can be when the Cloud or PS teams do a case on client behalf, or some very old products OT kinda threw their hands up on support (imaging for windows being the most common one.) Those still affect TTR (time to resolve a case). That can hurt an entire dept's numbers significantly based on workload. I have only seen the internal ticket end, but it does sound like it has similar issues. And that will affect everyone migrated towards it. If that's a consistent issue OT won't be likely to fix it and just blame the TTR on individual units to PIP/lay us off.

Alongside the groups that use tasks. My team isn't supposed to be let's be frfr I still catch them working tasks.

@mr , I think it will be worse this time around. I know we never learn from past mistakes as we keep getting rid of people who remember the past mistakes. Those that mentioned the past mistakes are always shutdown as pessimist.
However, there will be a point where legacy knowledge hit non recoverable state and everything takes forever to fix as we will be starting from scratch for every issues.
Those who forget history will forever repeat their mistakes.

Disgusting. The only thing they are celebrating is axing so many people who were let go after Unity went live due to "redundancies". When in reality, all Unity did was double the workload of everyone. SB is disgusting.

The old portal and the old service cloud deployment on day one had the exact same issues..... That's a fact..... It's going to be fine..

@dm I think the celebration is that we're doing it ourselves instead of buying you all more ServiceNow accounts. So it saved them money and they then get to parade that around.

We'll all be moved there at some point and we'll be right there with you.

@a3 Definitely huge bonuses. They are all selling post-exercise. If I'm reading this right, the ELT doesn't believe much in the future at OT. Only our CEO is buying, and that might be to comply with whatever the board expects of him. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/investing/markets/stocks/OTEX-T/insiders/

WHAT!!! Is that for real ? How can there be a celebration when Unity messed up customers entitlements, which are still not fixed, OTSM notifications are non existent and loss of portal functionalities compared to the old portal ?? I guess openJoke only celebrate failures and not actual success.

@ad Well we aren't getting a lot of public sale wins lately....

I can see it and hope SMAX won't mess with yall's TTR too much.

@a3 Under fire... oh no, does that mean Muhi won't get to have a new Corvette in 2027?

The ELT is under fire from Ayman and the board. The new sales model has been a disaster and there is no pathway for sales to meet it's magic H1 number. Throwing more enablement at the mess is the latest answer. That and HUGE HUGE results bonuses for seniors leaders on top of the massive comp increases they received for F27.

@OP It should be obvious by now that incompetence and duplicity is encouraged and rewarded at OpenJoke.

Embrace the su-k, work as little as possible while polishing your skills to exit.

OpenJoke is the walking dead, and will never recover.
