Question for Sales: Is the new model going to work?

Is this the miracle Todd C has bet his career on?

Last year it was, fluff up your pipeline to help the outlook.

This year they set targets against the fluff.

Setting up sales people to fail and earn significantly less is an excellent way to reduce headcount on the cheap.

Dirty tricks but actually quite effective and efficient which is unlike OpenText so maybe they have a future😂😂😂😂😂

It's all a house of cards. The things that go on in the background. Leadership keeps it on the very edge of being legal - barely. Another round of WFRs in October.

The products are junk. Sales can't fix that

In sales we all know it is about the desirability of your products. Todd Clione with all respect is a tailors dummy, and we are trying to sell sh-t on a stick which is the bottom line. The next three quarters will tell you how successful it has been and I guarnatee you it won't be. All we will have done and continue to do is tax the install base to death further, to yet drive more churn than the 5% recently announced (markets reacted) that the other tailors dummy Rui oversaw and he somehow managed to get a sideways promotion!!

The current sales leadership are all all employees who were let go from Microsoft. The new go to market model is a copy of the sales model at Microsoft. Microsoft has sophisticated account planning, overlays partner ecosystems, industry programs, cloud motions and the biggest advantage is that customers already want Microsoft. A customer doesn't ask, Who is Microsoft, they ask how much Microsoft are we buying. Open text has to answer a whole different set of questions like who is open text. Why should I buy from this company and so on before we even get to show them a product.

This model is a Hail Mary. Awful.

Im also very interested in this. Outside of sales we have a canary in the coal mine so to speak, which is the info management has on how the products are performing. If management lets you see the data, then you can tell immediately what's happening more or less. If management used to let you see it and stops all of the sudden, canary is beginning to choke and run out of breath. If management loses access to that data we might as well play Its all over but the crying and have a celebration of life for the product(s).
