Be mindful that some employees are carrying undercover cameras on them and recoding workplace infractions. Belk can be liable for these workplace violations.

In most states you can record where there is no reasonable expectation of privacy, so if belk is recoding customers and employees, you can also record according to most state laws. Recording in restrooms, fitting rooms would be illegal, but out in an open area of a store would be ok.
Good luck, secret recordings can be tricky to use as any kind of evidence. Depends on the state, and also on bunch of other factors, like whether you were part of the conversation, was audio captured or just video, whether there was an expectation of privacy on the premises…
