Do we get the 401(k) match if we quit?

Hi, please respond. Have worked at the company 39 years, desperately want to retire. Have been talking to HR retirement, unclear advice and answers. I see a couple of people have said need to be employed on Dec 15th to get 401k match on December 31st. HR said have to work thru December 31st. Need something in writing.
Absolutely not. The annual match was designed to disqualify employees who were not actively employed as of 12/15. That includes those who quit and those who have completed their 60-day notice period and have begun severance.
This is how WF saved money at the expense of employees. Annual matches are NOT the norm for too companies. Just ask AI.
you need to be an employee of record as of Dec 15 to get the match for the year.
