I joined in 2021 and Verizon was a much better company then. It is so toxic now & people back stabbing each other. So happy I got let go
You should be proud of who you are as an individual. Your own accomplishments in your own life. Your own relationships. Who you are to others. There is no logical reason to feel proud about Verizon’s accomplishments nor shame for its failures. Unless you’re on the board or the CEO, Verizon is none of your business. You have not been given the tools and resources to make Verizon great. You’re just a piece for them to move around the board as needed. That is your role at Verizon! You’re not the player your a piece on the board. So seek fulfillment in areas of your life that you actually do have complete control over. Verizon does not give its employees that level of ownership. Very clearly we are expected to be heads down doing as we’re told rather it makes sense or not. So just do that. Be proud of yourself for putting up with Verizon’s nonsense, collecting a check from them, and spending that on you and your loved ones or investing it for you and your loved one’s future. What Verizon does or does not do is out of your control. That paycheck that’s your reward for putting up with Verizon’s nonsense. That’s all it is, it’s a transaction. If Verizon operated in a way where they gave you clear concrete goals, the tools required to achieve them, and let you loose to achieve that goal on your own. Well that would be a different story. That is not how Verizon operates though.

@OP Same here. Never had a manager in all the years that wouldn't stab me or anyone else in the back, steal work or step on a back to achieve a goal they couldn't quite reach on their own. No one hears your name when they present your work as their own but you will be the first thrown under the bus if something is wrong, even if it wasn't your something.
But that is the way the world works. But even so, I was proud of my work, I felt secure that it was a good job with a future and I was motivated to leave anything I touched better than I had found it.
Now I haven't heard from or about any manager in weeks, maybe months. The work is done every day but it is never seen by the next in line to take it to the next step. And no one at the top seems to notice if they even know or care. Worst of all, the goals of every team have been met or exceeded. Maybe that's good news for those who prefer to take advantage rather than do honest work. At some point, someone will find out everything was a con even though it could have been done legitimately.
