Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Leadership knows exactly what they're doing

They're milking the company for quick profits while it lasts. Layoffs boost stock prices and pad bonuses, even if they hollow out the company for the future. They're not clueless. They just don't care what happens after they cash out.

@br Medicaid is the biggest loser now in healthcare, followed by ACA. No company wants to invest in Medicaid right now, you will 100% lose. Even Centene is drooping many Medicaid markets

I don’t know if it is true or just a rumor but I heard a news article is coming out tomorrow about an SEC investigation into collusion between Humana executives and Centene Executives that used to work at Humana. I don’t have anymore information than that and like I already said not even know if it true.

@bh Yeah, I agree. Although, Humana has more capital and cash flow, their projected full year 2026 is 92.75%. So, they are hardly in any position to be buying Centene. In fact, it would not surprise me if Humana was trying to sell off their Medicare business and then just focus on Medicaid and their CenterWell Home Health segments.

All successful companies operate this way.

Selling to Humana has been a rumor since forever. Look at Humana's market cap, buying Centene makes no cents.

Leadership _"knowing what they're doing?"+

I guess there's a first time for everything! Seriously though, I've been in LOTS of enterprise tech and complex organizations in my 20+ years in working and consulting. Centene ranks dead last in all of them, and that's not an exaggeration. It really wasn't bad at all until around 2022. Hmmm.

Is this a Gordon Grecco move like Blue Star in the movie Wall Street?

@OP this is so sad. Not understanding how the stock goes up and bonuses. All of us losing our jobs.

@OP they are trying to make it profitable as much as possible by reducing the overhead to Sell it to Humana. It's clear
