@OP How memory does not serve many well. Remember Amplify this year? It was all about WINNING!!! What happened?
The CEO got whacked
The Head of NA got whacked
The old ancient Legal dude retired
The services Resource optimization gal got WHACKED
More and more layoffs have occurred *(three or four rounds??)
New CEO SILVER BULLET guy anointed
Early retirement schism launched to CUT MORE
More disappearing Directors and VPs
Sales dudes walking out the door with their book of accounts
My head is spinning, endless restructuring, endless layoffs, constant COMP plan changes, NO ONE addressing the Fuchsia ELEPHANT in the room.
Question - because I don't know and am seeking perspective here...is it people by number - or true talent??? "Brain drain" is unfortunate, but a real deal. When the elders leave the village, wisdom walks out with them. When the skills thin out over both short and long periods of time - a steady erosion of expertise leaves, the eyebrows raise and the questions mount: why??? An exodus can be alarming. Is the lighthouse going dark? You know...the people who guided everyone else? Is it just a lump of the map-makers leaving where the terrain is now unfamiliar and it won't be a better place? Headcount VALUE? Or are the wrong people being hired and it's a numbers thing where headcount is headcount VOLUME? Maybe both?
Did you hang out while Rome burned to the ground? Hells no. Run for the hills!
