I was laid off this year and I snagged a better job that's more money and remote. I also canceled all my policies and went elsewhere for big savings.
It gets better, plan now and walk away. If i can do it so can you. Usaa is dead, let it die.

The market is tough. God bless those who got the opportunities. feels like every where just rejections
It does get better
@tf can you talk more ? Couldn't understand .
@bf I would caution anyone to never apply for a job from LinkedIn. If you see something interesting, go to that company's job site and apply there. FWIW, it looks like there are a lot of tech jobs, but there's also a lot of IT people looking for work, so the competition is very stiff. It's a buyer's market for employers right now, and they know it, so there's a lot of slimy tactics going on.
The main thing for me was better bosses, and mental health. Sadly it used to be USAA's strength.
If you're working tirelessly for a bad boss, hoping to get a 10% raise in some years, then job search for some months can be a v good investment in yourself. It's not like USAA want people around, or has growing opportunities.
I got a way better boss, remote, and significant raise.
Some of the leadership they’ve left in place is a complete joke! They’ll try to make you believe there’s nothing left out there, dont believe it. There’s still other opportunities!
@an both my teammates that got let go in January both got a remote gig with an average of 20-30% pay increase. Just because you don’t have the resume or skills doesn’t mean others can’t get these opportunities.
@an I did too. Remote. 30% increase in base.
@b0 same here, I was part of the layoffs back in January, took me by complete surprise. After 2 1/2 months of 24/7 searching, I was hired on at Citi bank, same job I was doing and a $15k pay increase, along with my 8 months of severance. I have to go into office 5 days a week, but I live 10 minutes from the campus.
@an there a ton of remote jobs that are posted to LinkedIn.
@an yeah. Used Teal and linkedin. Tailor each resume specifically and hit all the buzzwords. AI ATS are the devil took me 5 months but its doable. Got to bank 3 months severance too.
No salt intended. Just sending good vibes to my fellow inmates!
@op, really you got more money for remote. yeah we believe what you say.
@OP - Congratulations. Have fun. good salt rubbing...
