Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Congratulations for a YTD Return of +1.03% !!!!

I would like to congratulate the PEP team for this outstanding achievement. This is truly a testament to your dedication, leadership and passion for winning ! Not every organization with a Market Cap of $194B and 300,000 employees worldwide is capable of providing a lower rate of return to its investors than a Money Market fund. Although this may not create smiles for our investors, who cares, it's important to remember that change is difficult and just achieving this small positive number is something you can all be proud of. Let's try for +1.04 in the last 4 months of 2026 !

@jq I see this in my local supermarket. The value brands are selling just fine...Utz, Cape Cod, Wise and store brands. Even soda...people are buying what's on sale. The loyalty is now to the wallet. No once cares about brand name.

Pepsi needs to shed some assets in order to reduce prices. Why are there 3 main office locations, Purchase/Valhalla, Plano and Chicago. All these locations are nowhere near full capacity at any given work day. High cost of running Bottling/manufacturing plants. Then you have the massive fleet of delivery vehicles, with that comes insurance, maintenance, etc. Consolidating office real estate and spinning off bottling seems like a no-brainer. Look at Coke, they run an asset light operation.

Over the years, powerful brand recognition hid all the warts. Since that is disappearing and consumers no longer care about brand names, we have to fight a good fight to keep up. The current leadership team is clueless in this area. They keep introducing "premium" items/brands....Pepsi Prebiotics, Protein Doritos, Celcius, Poppi, Alvalle...on and on, whereas the current consumer wants value.

Delivery telling us we can’t deliver the bag in the box to a restaurant when we are in the same parking lot delivering Albertsons causes this.

I contributed to this positive development by not calling in sick as much last month and checking my email at least once a week
