I got laid off last year which was the best thing that has ever happened to me.
What has been happening since then? Is RTO still strict 5 days a week? Are they still tracking hours?

They continue laying off some truly exceptional, well‑rounded technical professionals, and it’s getting harder to understand the logic behind these decisions. I just heard that three Level 3 women at the MT, NJ location were let go in the latest round, and I honestly couldn’t believe it.
These are not just strong technical contributors — they’re the kind of professionals who elevate the entire organization. They volunteer their time outside of work to run key programs like Women of AT&T, help orchestrate the software symposium, and support corporate initiatives that strengthen culture, community, and employee engagement.
Losing people like this isn’t just a reduction in headcount; it’s a loss of leadership, institutional knowledge, and the kind of commitment you can’t easily replace. It’s troubling to see such dedicated, high‑impact women being cut when they represent exactly the kind of talent companies should be fighting to retain.
Stock is doing great lately. Big John has it humming and the company is on the uptrend. Your best move is to get back in while you can!! :)
We’re still #3 with no hope of ever getting to #1. 5X a week still the norm. On Teams video calls all day. Leaders still trashing each other behind everyone’s backs. Connection Awards still going to favorites only. Moving into new HQ nobody wants to be at. Stock still a joke. Big planning underway for Pebble Beach golf tournament nobody care about.
All is well!
You miss AT&T because it was the best job you ever had. That is why you come here and wish you stayed.
