Is this the only company where people somehow fail up? I've watched guys make enormous mistakes, face zero consequences, and then land promotions. At the same time, good employees who deliver get ignored. It's demoralizing, to say the least. Name one other place where that's tolerated.

Well, LinkedIn just sent me job notices for two open Technical PM positions...which per the WARN notice from yesterday were eliminated. And because you're laid off, they won't touch you.
@ac Totally agree. MTS, Sr.MTS with several being demoted from director to keep them within the company. They were bad directors that became bad engineers with limited technical knowledge. We’ve always had issues with career paths and development.
promote the problem has been the case for a long time. the folks who keep it moving and make themselves irreplaceable represent a problem to promote, who will do the work. the useless person being promoted has a positive impact as they are no longer a distraction and just a keystroker tracking dashboards.
It is more prevalent here than any place I have ever seen in my career. Absolutely worthless people promoted to very high level positions.
You can generally view T-Mobile as a fake company, full of hype and bullsh-t, and most of what happens around here is for the same reasons.
The term "F up Move up" is in every industry.
