Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

That's how bad it's gotten

We've reached the point where even the laziest people, those who work maybe 2-3 hours a day, are leaving for better opportunities. When that's happening, you know things are truly dire. If even the coasters are jumping ship, what's left for the rest of us? Seriously?

I was a top performer in my organization. But once I realized average and low performers were receiving the same raises as I was, it taught me something: they may not be lazy or bad at their jobs, they’ve simply learned that average performance is accepted. So why push to be exceptional?

If you can be average, likable, and a good talker, you can still get promoted. And when the system rewards that, it’s no surprise that people stop striving to be high achievers.

You know, that's super nice and all. But it's quite a goalpost move from the initial claim of:

"The coasters know they are about to be exposed and managed out as they should be."

So, beyond the super tight ship I'm sure you run, where is this broad-based crackdown coming from?

Just a gut feeling, wishful bootlicker thinking, or some real evidence that we suddenly have competent "leadership"?

@a9 I know how to use our corrective action process. I have always used it within my orgs….

It's a tale as old as time. Any day now, management is going to oust the slackers, while bootlickers like you cheer from the sidelines. Keep on waiting...
