Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

@as how can they gut IT anymore? at least in my org, we're easily 70-80% offshore already. our last FTE took the voluntary package and the other US contractor was let go a few months ago as well.

@fn they will call you while you’re on vacation to lay you off. I know a person it happened to. Cigna doesn’t give a F. They want anyone gone they will be gone.

@OP And don't think for one second they wouldn't do a layoff right after the Labor Day holiday. No heart and no soul these big execs.

They normally do a 60 day notification period.
This helps with warn act liability.

@OP Nope. Not safe. There is a confirmed layoff coming for IT. I've heard 10/8 but they normally do a 30 day notification period which would put you in November if the notification is on 10/8. My bet is the week after Labor Day (non-pay week) as the notification date 9/10 with a 30 day notification date which would bring you to the 10/8 date.
