@ds there was a bill introduced too last year by a senator from Ohio that would eliminate the tax deductions for outsourcing to India and fining the companies the difference in salaries between onshore American workers and off shore. Specifically targeting the insurance industry as tons of insurance companies are based in Ohio. This would cripple met and their current strategy. Guessing the bill never gets traction due to insurance lobby groups.
Add that $100k charge, and all the sudden US employers will be able to find qualified US citizens that they "couldn't find" before.
The other part of it is that H1B's become almost indentured servants of the employer due to the requirement to have the job or leave the country. Gives employers way too much power.
