So what is the target number now ? Have they become greedy and just trying to increase HIH headcount till all the engineering has moved ?

They will offshore as much as they can legally. Operations has been offshoring for 20 years and has offshored everything that doesn’t pay a fee to stay onshore or government contract that doesn’t allow them to.
In our team, the US-based Indian consultants seem to be safe and secure. I’m not sure about the employees, though. Our team is mostly made up of consultants all Indian , and consultants get support from leadership.
Any new projects consultants are given priority
@c9 Actually, corporations would save way more money and make shareholders more money if they kept all the workers, engineers on down, and developed and used AI for any middle level leader, Manager on up all the way up and including the CEO.
AI can handle all the big picture decisions, the scheduling decisions, and even the quarterly earnings call presentations with investors.
Add up all of the C-Suite salaries and all of the VP salaries, and all the Director & Associate Director salaries and think of all those savings if they were replaced with AI. The actual worker salaries (i.e., engineers on down) are a pittance of those upper leader salaries. THAT is where the true savings are to be made.
@bm There was actually a story on one of the news programs RE: reducing the labor force in Corporate America. McKesson was spearheading this initiative. Get rid of the people doing the work, keep the higher level positions, and outsource to get the work done.
@am And how does this align to the "America First" agenda our politicians have run on in the past few elections. Bunch of hooey if you ask me. Just plain old GREED! Sad, very sad.
@bm One quick tweak: except for their family members, obviously.
The goal is to outsource all roles at the Director level and below to India (HIH).
my team is 70% Indians, also team has been gutted so that number would jump a lot with just one change
