I’ve left bad jobs all the time without something lined up and just was crank about it not being a long term fit and wanting to focus where my skills and interests lay, particularly if the job description substantially changed. It has never been an issue because I have really good credentials so don’t let these boogeymen scare you
@ah I was laid off almost 10 years ago and couldn’t find a job for a year. During one of my interviews the interviewer asked why I wasn’t working, I said that I took a gap year and took the time to get another certification relevant for my carrier. He liked my answer and hired me.
What happens if future employer know not eligible for rehire ?
If they ask WF, your next employer will only know your employment dates and eligibility for rehire.
Everything else comes from you. Just say you got laid off. Everyone knows the job market is terrible and employees are shedding jobs. It's not the black mark it used to be to be displaced.
Try not to overshare about ratings and just say you were a solid performer.
As long as you get your final check plus unpaid PTO, then either salary continuance for the duration of your severance period or a lump sum payout...does it really matter? Your next employer most likely won't give a hoot unless you were terminated.
Obviously not displaced since the job market is horrible
