To all those whining about people upset regarding WFH

It's more than just what you see inside your bubble. It's not just people who are lazy and dont feel like coming in or want to spend time with their dog or whatever. Two examples of people I know: Employee who for years has worked from home on... — read more

How do other companies feel about former BNYM employees?

Would anyone care to share their experiences when applying at other companies, primarily banks, of course? Does working at BNYM considered a good thing or not. In other words, is that a plus or a minus on our CV? Does the competition consider us a... — read more

Greatest day of my career

I was let go from BNYM on the 19th. I see alot of comments in which it appears that people are sad and anxious about what's next. I personally am ecstatic..I have never seen or experienced such a toxic environment. My manager was a toxic, tacky, and... — read more

Are people able to find new positions?

It would be nice to know how people who have been laid off in the past several months are doing on finding new jobs. I know one of my former coworkers is still searching after nearly half a year, so it would be reassuring if people know others who... — read more

To what extent was the Pittsburgh office hit today?

More happening in Pittsburgh today, seems like front office is getting hit. Does anyone know if they changed the severance? Have heard rumors it was changing to only 6 weeks, can anyone confirm that? First of all, is this true? If it is, does anyone... — read more

Did the layoffs continue today?

I see nobody posting anything. Does that mean we are safe for the time being? At my location, folks were cut yesterday but today it was business as usual. Even the conference room wasn’t booked, so I suppose we won’t be seeing any today. Any info?

More cuts expected today?

Usually layoffs at BNYM last at least two days, which is why I'm worried that there'll be more today. However, so far it's been quiet - even if it's still really early. Any ideas on what we can expect today? And on a more general note, when can we... — read more

Layoffs February 19

After 19 years at Bny I was laid off today. I know some other people were let go too. It’s a said feeling as I had so many great co-workers. On the other side I’m happy that I no longer need to be a part of daily circus called Bny Mellon. Good luck... — read more

Is it just me?

I have never felt so unappreciated at job. First the lay offs and now no working from home. It almost seems like they are trying to make things as miserable as possible. But they still except us to give so much. Funny. Other companies I've worked for... — read more

Bring In a Union

What do we have to do to bring in a union. We need a union to protect the rights of the workers. They need to stop treating us like trash and tossing us out after they’ve used and abused us.

So the layoffs happened, are we a successful company now?

Of course I’m being sarcastic and maybe oversimplifying but I don’t see anything changing other than the fact that our workload doubled. At the same time the same ill practices that got us where we are now are still being done.

Blowback from bad corporate behavior

Among other things, I see employees not commenting on a colleague's errors, since they aren't responsible -- and 'an error for them nudges me up on the job security scale'. This is one of the negative outcomes of the current atmosphere.

Moving on

I'm glad they fired me. Now I have 3 offers paying better than BNY. I never would have had the guts to move out on BNY on my own. I was way too comfortable. I hope it works out good for others as well.

Scharf and BNY could care less about their employees

I’m embarassed to say I work there. These people are the scum of the earth. I wouldn’t wish my worst enemy a career at BNY. Literally every bank is better than us, and now with the WFH being axed; what’s the point.
