Don’t sweat your mental state, lots of us in the same boat. Second time for me in 3 years. Even though I was expecting it, and didn’t really like my new position, anyway, it very stressful. You’re in fight or flight mode all day and nothing you can... — read more
Can someone that was cut post their actual experience?

Restructure was necessary, but they didn’t have to do it in this manner
I want to be realistic here, so I’m going to say it: we all had the opportunity to see this coming unless we chose to look the other way in order to feel more comfortable. BNYM is a dinosaur company, with uninterested management and outdated... — read more

With cuts and internal shuffle so large, why don't we see at least some media reports?

How does this end?
BNYM is the epitome of what is wrong in the world. Instead of growing with revenue, they cut employees to be "more efficient", or the easy way out to drive margins. Management is awful and can't manage their way out of a paper bag. The former... — read more

Unemployment?
What's the situation with those who were laid off and are receiving severance and unemployment? Can they still apply for it?
Good riddance!
Laid off yesterday. 21 years at bank, now age 61. Got laid off 2014, rehired 2015, now laid off second time. At least I get another, albeit smaller, severance package this time. Was involved in the WTC cleanup and have had 2 bouts with cancer in... — read more

Do we have any ideas on what's being hit on Friday? And how bad those layoffs will get?
Poor Management
Dear investors, BNY Mellon clearly does not know how to grow new business, increase revenue and provide quality services to their clients. Mr. Scharf's request to "be patient" (article below) should have been, "give me six months and I'll just... — read more
BNY Mellon does people dirty!
I would have had 14 years with BNY this year had the company not sold Shareowner Services to Computershare back in 2012. No heads up given to the employees we found out on the news on the day of the sale. Employees were forbidden from bidding out and... — read more
Charlie-The New Jack Welch. Max profit margin to boost his share price on the backs of people.
It’s what happens when you can’t succeed legitimately. The ruination of a great company. Wealth had 100 cuts and now wants to only do business with 5mm and up clients yet is 10 years behind in technology. Watch how this fails for them! Blame the... — read more

Today was tough, I have been at BNY for 2 years and was laid off.
