Layoffs without subpay

There have been a few posts mentioning this without specifics. Is anyone aware of the bank not offering 2 weeks per year for those laid off? Are there any extenuating circumstances such as failure to return to the office. What about health... — read more

Rewards For Years of Service at BNYM

5 years = 1 extra vacation day 10 years = 1 extra vacation day 15 years = 1 extra vacation day 20 years = extra week of vacation 24 years = below expectations rating 25 years = pink slip w/ no sub pay!

They always find ways to micromanage even more

It's becoming really annoying. I get the feeling that the manager is always looking over my shoulders and it is not a very stimulating environment to work in. What surprises me is that they never seem to stop finding new ways to micromanage even... — read more

Oriskany Office

Does anyone have information on them closing the Oriskany office? Have heard lot of rumors, some folks say their managers have confirmed - other managers aren’t saying anything even when asked. Have heard closing in around 9 months and you can try to... — read more

Sinking ship

Unfortunately, I don't think people are exaggerating at all when they call this place a sinking ship. However, is there any hope that things can be fixed? I don't see a way anymore.

IP address tracking

I heard the rumor that BNY Mellon is currently tracking IP address and how many hours for each employee spend time in the office based on IP address and badge swipes.

Wealth Mgmt - something not right

People in WM are flooding the gates. Some offices down to 2 people. Zero hiring. Teams lifting out. Not a word. Keating is a disaster. Missed goals all 5 years, treats people like animals. Still here. Either they are trying to sell it off or running... — read more

Quiet layoffs happening

There's roughly 500 people got the boot over the last month from BNY Mellon. Word from middle management is that those that got an average review were to be fired. Those being let go were not offered any opportunities with PIP or related options... — read more

CAO TOWN HALL

ESG. ESG. ESG. comical listening to all his BS. & trying to drum up fake excitement about what’s going on in the bank & location strategy & open floor plans.

Get rid of the bell curve

No high performing, decent organisation still uses the bell curve. It is an out of date, subjective and vindictive process. BNYM is still in the dark ages as far as employee relations despite its platitudes and virtue signalling. I really hope the... — read more

Layoffs are occurring

How is one rewarded for long hours, team player mentality and flexibility? Laid off after the required 2 week vacation, of course. The sad part, I'm not even that upset because I hated what the culture had become. I'm currently seeing if I can... — read more

BNYM is nothing more than a government entity

I got laid off after a decade of service. Many extra hours. There were never any folks at BNYM who sought to get the company paid for the risk we were taking on. I kept calculating it for them but the salespeople always win. Beyond that the... — read more

Oriskany Job Postings?

Only OLD Oriskany reqs are still showing. Is this a sign that this location is on a closure list? You can confirm this ominous fact by checking job postings in Oracle and Eightfold. Anyone knows why?

Mid year reviews and RTO

For those that have had conversations with managers on mid year reviews, has your manager discussed compliance with RTO policy?

Who is ready for some propaganda?!?!

This place has become a mess

I'm tired of this place. What happened to professionalism here? I am surrounded by mediocrities that no one knows exactly how they got promoted.

Toilet paper

We have to buy our own office supplies, now do we need to bring TP during water cooler collaboration days? 2 days in a row 2 of the 3 stalls have no TP. This place sucks

Sick days

They really need to get rid of the number of days given. 13 is ridiculous and I’m sick of dealing with same people calling out about any little thing . HR says you cannot address them until all 13 hours are used. Yet the rest of the team gets stuck... — read more

Long hours

I wonder why some of our colleagues still work very long hours? I don't know that anyone was rewarded for working 12 hours a day, but I know many people who destroyed their health and eventually gave up because they naively thought that their... — read more

SUB and UI

Is there any downside in filing for unemployment while getting SUB payments?

Summer Hours?

I’ve heard no summer hours this year. Can anyone confirm? This is a no cost value add for staff and makes employee happy!

Human Resources and RTO

Anyone else notice how there is still barely anyone back in the building from Hr or even in office at all still. Yet the rest of us are being forced in. They were also the first ones to run their butts home at start of covid and not care that nobody... — read more

Layoffs have become too frequent

I am very worried and stressed because I feel like the layoffs here are constantly going on and I have not been able to relax for a long time. I'm starting to wonder if getting laid off now might not be such a bad thing afterall. Otherwise I'll... — read more

Why do they cut the best people?

I still don't understand why someone who was an excellent employee gets laid off, while someone who only pretends to work is still there.

What’s the Tech Tracking Software Called?

I saw it a few months ago, I could find it in MySource but I forget what it’s called now. I could see how many confluence pages and Jira tickets everyone has worked on. It has some short one word name that I just can’t seem to remember. — read more

Our CEO had one job… By the one metric that matters, he’s failing.

Scare Tactics

Not buying this 3 days a week nonsense. If you have a high rating and are clearly valued you're fine. They're just trying to weed out the garbage.

BLACKROCK tells bny

Open reqs

How many of you are feeling the heat thanks to reqs being held off on getting filled so the bank can save money each month? That mixed in with you can’t fill in your location makes a good combo

Summer layoffs have begun

Start looking for VVV email addresses tomorrow. Will it be substantial? No. But we spoke of 1,500 of 51K so no substantial plans in 2023. Unless of course you are impacted. Then it is substantial for you and your family.

Remember when 225 Liberty was the headquarters?

How long did that last ? 3 years? Don’t get me wrong, it was a nice building, but 240 Greenwich had plenty of space at the time. What were they thinking? Especially since the Brooklyn employees didn’t go to 240 until after 2019 (?).
