Pershing continues to lose veteran leadership

So a couple more senior managers are leaving Pershing. For them to leave one of the more profitable divisions of the bank, they must know something the rest of us don't. Pershing X must mean Pershing eXit!

Adapting to new times

It has long been clear to me that those at the top have very little or no vision for the future. Do you too think that BMY Mellon has difficulties adapting to the new times?

Russia

Will Todd pull out of Russia or is there too much money tied to oligarchs?

Mediocrity in the team

Unfortunately BNY Mellon rewards and praises mediocre work so there is less and less quality employees here. Just a few years ago, it was impossible for such people to have as much confidence as they do now. It's really hard to work with them. How... — read more

Know your worth

BNY Mellon has been underpaying employees for years while expecting more and more each day. It's not worth it. Every bank pays more. Every single one of them. Even if you find a job with the same amount of work and the same toxic environment at... — read more

Layoffs and 10 x workers

If you don’t need to get laid off, just be a 10x worker. Don’t try it. Do it. Like this, coach. Make a fully reasonable goal. A fully reasoned goal is you working at 150% of what a highly motivated alpha WHITE MAN can do. This is BNY, it’s... — read more

Treasury Services Technology

Anyone knows what's going on in treasury services technology, most of the department is reshuffled and CIO changed, time to move out?

So much for diversity

For a company that preaches the importance of diversity to us until they are blue in the face, you would think they would’ve given us a different option for the new CEO….

CEO Todd Gibbons to Retire This Year

BNY Mellon Announces Leadership Succession Plan Naming Robin Vince CEO-Elect CEO Todd Gibbons to Retire This Year Robin Vince, Vice Chair of BNY Mellon and CEO of Global Market Infrastructure, Named President and CEO-elect

At least there'll be no layoffs

Enough people will quit over RTO. The rest of us can enjoy a short window of job security, I guess. Silver linings and all that...

2nd Job

With gas prices and needing to drive to the office + parking / toll I cannot survive on BNYM salary. Do I HAVE to tell them I m working a 2nd job waiting table + 3rd job stocking at walmart overnight ? How would they find out / care?

RTO has nothing to do with productivity

The only reason why we're going back is so that the real estate is not sitting there empty and (in their heads) losing them money (which it's not). It has nothing to do with productivity (which has proven to be better when we WFH) and it has nothing... — read more

RTO Propaganda

get ready for the barrage of RTO propaganda, telling us all how great it is to be paying $4.50/gal of gas to drive into a dirty noisy office setting to have video meetings with other countries under the claim of collaboration. Worse yet will be... — read more

Stick it to them

All those threatening to leave.. it’s your time to shine. Stick it to them. It’s already bad but they need a rude awakening to remove their heads from their butts

The Great Resignation

I am quite sure BNY Mellon is at the top of the list. https://apple.news/AmypzmshYRJyUkhHOHwO47A

Is BNY primed to go under?

With so many quitting these past couple years, so many saying they are going to leave, and the bizarre inability—-or even desire—-to fill reqs, is BNY primed to go under and/or become part of a takeover? This goes way beyond the WFH issue. The mass... — read more

RTO Flex remote and Unvaxxed

If you're unvaxxed you're not allowed to RTO, but as flex remote you have to show up at least min 5x's a quarter. Therefore, you can't show up and they terminate you, correct? Am I missing something here.

Just a Reminder on March 7th

Pacifiers will be available at the 240 Security Desk for all of the returning crybabies . Blue for boys and pink for girls!

The future of work

How out of touch do you have to be to refer to RTO as the "future of work?" Everybody and their mother know that all the smart companies are pivoting to WFH permanently because that's obviously the way of the future, but not us. No, for us, the old... — read more

They dream of younger and less expensive employees

This is a fine idea, they will slowly replace us, older employees with experience with new hires who do not have much experience but are not expensive. However, they seem to completely ignore the fact that this place is no longer attractive to the... — read more

I don't think they expected this

I feel a little embarrassed and sad that I am one of the few who hasn't resigned. I couldn't find anything better. However, I was also surprised by how many colleagues gave notices, but I guess it was an even bigger surprise for BNYM? I don't believe... — read more

RTO 7th Executions

Haven't been receiving emails my coworkers have been receiving. I assume that means the unvaxxed will be liquidated on Monday? Or are they just going to keep giving me the silent treatment? Fire me or don't you cowards

RTO March 7th

I can’t wait to return. Free coffee and tea. Photo station to take selfies with all my coworkers. Smile for the camera. No smooching 💋💋 what’s better than that? Perhaps ice cream with sprinkles 🍦🍦🍦

Lot of East Coast employees got RIF'd

I know of at least 40 people who got let go since September, lot of them recently in February. All making 6 figures and very good at their jobs. Mostly white males in there 40s/50s. London also hit fairly hard.

Micromanaging simply doesn’t work.

Micromanaging has been a known occurrence for a long time now. I, as a long-timer at the company, remember the times when that kind of management was not present. A manager would give you guidelines on what to do and later value your work as you... — read more

Supreme court

BNYM is waiting for the appeal decision that went to the court after the Texas circuit court to see if they can mandate. I hope they get slapped with a major dose of reality .

Just do it

All you coming on here just to say I hate BNYM or I’m giving notice don’t have the ba--s. That’s why you’re on here instead of typing up that resignation letter you keep talking about

Exodus

I’m waiting to see the mass exodus tomorrow I’m guessing I’ll be waiting a long time

BNY holding, transacting Russian securities / cash

What amount of Russian stuff is BNY involved with for clients? I would guess Corporate Trust would be involved, and Custody. I know one large Custody client with billions at BNY, and our sub-custodian Citi. Are sanctions going to touch this?

Employee Appreciation day

How tf are you going to have a day to recognize how great employees are when 90% of the building is wfh at that time. Can we say another slap in the face ?
