2021 W2 Statement

I downloaded my 2020 W2 from the BNY Mellon intranet on January 20, 2021 while I was still employed. I am no longer at the firm. Has anyone who is also no longer an active employee, received their 2021 W2 yet or know when they may be sent out? And... — read more

Does anyone know the mid points for salary bands? I have numbers from 2019 and would hope they have increased but wanted to check in advance of “pay review”…

BACK TO THE OFFICE

Heard from a good source we will not be going back to the office until May or June. If Omicron is subsiding, they want to make sure there isn't a resurgence.

Astronomical stress

Sometimes I really wonder why I need all this, why I don't accept any other offer just to get rid of so much stress. Our manager only knows how to set unrealistic goals and create stress. It's getting worse day by day. Is it even possible to... — read more

HR is the worst

I am very disappointed and it seems the only solution is to leave NY Mellon. Does HR do anything for employees here?

Friend quit for lower pay

We both have been considering quitting for months and looking at what's available, but he decided that he'd had enough and he just wanted out. The first offer he got, he accepted. Nearly a 20 percent cut in pay but he was willing to take it. I envy... — read more

Not showing proof of covid

Idg why the bank is not asking their employees for proof of a positive covid test. You’re giving two weeks pay without knowing if someone is blowing smoke. Makes no sense

Layoffs will always be happening

It's on you to be prepared when that happens. Worrying about layoffs all the time makes no sense. If you prepare yourself for the worst-case scenario, you can forget about the threat of layoffs because you know you're going to be okay no matter what... — read more

There are worse things than being laid off

The well intended people who advise to "keep your head down" do not get it. This mentality is part of the over problem with the company. I have many relatively senior colleagues who have selfishly uttered similar sayings. These are 55+ year olds who... — read more

Ireland Shortages

The shortage of employees in Ireland is devastating at the moment. Nothing is being done to resolve the issue. This leads us to think one of the offices could be closed in 2022. Dublin will always be protected so Cork v Wexford? The lack of... — read more

Pay is too low

Actually, pay is low if you look at the amount of work that needs to be done and the stress that needs to be endured. Every colleague I talked to who's left here, has received a much higher pay in their new companies. I think BNYM will have to give... — read more

Layoffs

Since this site is about layoffs… what’s happening? Last year there were layoffs the 2nd week of January. Any rumors, whisperings odd meetings scheduled for tomorrow?

BNY Human Resources is a great summary of the company

No need to work hard

Crowley is done

Crowley has lost his entire firm. So many resignations these past 6 months and even more coming as soon as bonuses hit. If he was a coach they would have cut him by game 2. The fact this has gotten as bad as it is is scary.

Layoffs…

Since layoffs is the main topic if this site what’s the word on current layofffs? It’s been very quiet in that regard. Just been a lot of posting here about vaccine etc that are getting really off tooic
