I left a smaller bank to join Citi for better pay and what I believed would be a stronger path to career growth. Calling this decision a regret would be a colossal understatement. For the past month, I’ve been trying to figure out how to get my old... — read more

Come on, guys. It could be a lot worse.
Enough of the doom and gloom. Things can be a lot worse. Let's stop the gloomy downcast thoughts. Sure, nothing is perfect and maybe it's going to get worse before it gets better. Just be grateful for what you do have right now and tell ourselves... — read more
Lowering employee morale
What a mess we are in? Employees are becoming less enthusiastic, engaged, and positive about their work, potentially due to factors like loss of job, unclear expectations from their managers and leaders. Jane and Tim need to bring back the enthusiasm... — read more

Is this a new way to get us to leave?
Are we now at the point where Citi will continue making cuts to benefits until enough people who have had enough are gone? It certainly seems cheaper to gradually thin out the workforce this way instead of spending money to lay everyone off. I truly... — read more

Citi cuts back on 401k and BofA steps up their game
Su-ks for us. Citi just made cuts to retirement as BofA decided to give a nice retention bonus to their employees. Citi really has the worst benefits in the banking industry.
We could just get rid of the ELT
That would provide about the same savings as getting rid of 20k people and not much would be lost in value, as witnessed by the current state of the bank.
Layoff this week

20:80 ratio at Citi got us now too many managerial layers, where we started seeing heavily bloated MD’s and D’s. Few years ago at Citi we hardly see few MD’s. Now whoever comes in here having the title MD’s. It’s just wasted and added weight to the... — read more

I wonder how much disinformation is spread on this site by Citi mgmt or HR.
It’s funny when someone makes a post that just a little too on target with the truth. Some of the responses that follow sure seem like they come from mgmt. Often times its followed up with a host of different post of nonsensical stuff of no value... — read more
Are you happy with your comp?
Raise%, bonus%? How you did compare to your colleague?
The answer isn’t pulling back from the abyss but its designing a company that doesn’t get there in the first place.
This of course requires a leader with vision and foresight. So the question remains, do we have that now?
Poor Timing
I get it is never a good time to have layoffs but I find it to be poor taste to announce 12 billion in net income and then a few days later to lay people off. Did impacted people have compensation conversations yesterday and then told today well... — read more
