Why did they lave and where did they go?

Sounds like ESP numbers are quite disappointing to say the least. I've heard many folks saying this is the final straw. I think we'll be seeing even higher attrition. A 2% raise just isn't going to cut it for most folks.

I personally think it will only get worse here. I wish it weren't so, because no matter what, it’s hard for me to leave the company I spent so many years in. Why is no one optimistic about IBM anymore?

What's causing the rift?

It may not have been obvious at the time but mandates could only ever be a short term proposition. But this was really short. So short that the damage that it managed to inflict (on morale, trust, etc.) is ridiculous.
