Outsourcing - Shame on Leadership

Aggressively moving towards Outsourcing, shifting high-value roles to teams in India and Argentina solely to cut costs. While this looks good on a balance sheet, the human cost in the US is devastating.
Domestic employees are being left with near-zero job security. They are expected to maintain high performance while constantly looking over their shoulders, wondering if their jobs will be outsourced next. This environment goes beyond standard corporate pressure—it is causing severe mental stress, burnout, and anxiety.Cost efficiency shouldn't come at the cost of basic human security.
Shame on their leadership, True Leadership means protecting the well-being of the people who built the foundation of the company. We need an open, honest conversation about sustainable global hiring practices that do not discard domestic talent.

Got hired at chase in 2011. Got laid off in 2023. That place will never change. If they could offshore the cleaning crew to Manila, they would damn sure have them cleaning the toilets and doing the windows. The constant stress of looking over my shoulder, anxiety of thinking I would get laid off all the time was toxic and mentally taxing. They should face huge fines and get hit with huge tax penalties for sending our jobs out of the country. Make them pay you to go away. Get your severance. Get your free health benefits for 8 months. They want you to quit, so they don't have to pay you. Take every last dime. I put my blood sweat and tears into that place and all I got in return was training several people to replace my job and my coworkers jobs.

@1ew The point of quiet quitting is to conserve your energy for the inevitable RIF and/or finding your new opportunity.

Don't give the company more energy than they pay for.

My issue with this is that most of the traffic in business happens during US hours so reaching APAC is tough for ops, tech, etc.

Offshoring means Money Laundering. It's funny that they do all AML trainings and find new ways to do money laundering.
Caste, Racism, Gifts, Cash, Offshore accounts on different names, vacations....and so on.
Someone should investigate whenever a citizen is replaced. It's a shame that the countries like UK and the USA are not able to stop the hiring fraud

A few things you can do to fight back:

  1. Quiet quit. It does not matter how well you perform, they will still find a way to replace you with someone cheaper. Put in the bare minimum to not get fired for something egregious, and tow that line until they lay you off or you find something better.

  2. If the offshore people join your team, don't train them or fake training them and train them with the wrong information. Make them look bad as much as you can. When they sc--w something up (and they will), make sure everyone knows about it.

  3. Pull all of your financial assets out of the bank and move them to an FI that does not participate in outsource/offshoring if possible.

That's about all you can do within your control.
