It may be a hear say but - Managers got initiated in the recent manager meet in San Antonio that no more renewal for existing employees. Any scoop here ?

@OP Yup no more renewals. And they are waiting until immigrants are close to their work visa expiration date to tell them it won't be renewed. So they'll most probably have to leave the country within few weeks or get arrested by ICE. Until then, USAA deceptively puts up the facade of "being in process" to renew work visa. Are they still hiring or extending H1B employee and processing Green Card after Jan layoff
From a top lvl mgmt- Direction to reduce H1b employee and provide plan to replace .
It will be stopped soon and need multi levl approval.

In my honest opinion, they will still renew existing h1b holders because the fee is not as steep as a new h1b petition which is 100K. Heard from the grapevine that h1b holders are paid similarly to non-h1bs, and some even more than the locals, so this does not make sense to me.
Why in the heck they sponsor in the first place when there are people locally without jobs?
