Nobody's safe. I've watched good people get cut, bad people stay, and the rules change every quarter. I've stopped believing in job security entirely.

@2g8 is there a cadence to the layoffs or do they just do them whenever they want/need to?
@255 I’ve seen every “layoff” over five decades. Just assume you are going to be part of a workforce reduction when the rumors start. You can’t believe the number of people who were blinded sided by large and small “layoffs” At the Bullseye, always expect the worst.
Were there any signs for those who were laid off?
Fair to say no one is safe. When a once beloved company tanks it’s a slow burn.
How anyone has ANY morale to show up to that place is beyond me
@1d2 Or if you are over 45, your manager will make sure to make life miserable for you that you will want to quit (and replace you with an L4), offer you a severance, or put you on a PIP in order to justify your dismissal. This is definitely not the company we all knew 10+ years ago.
At this point it appears they want a lot of people gone. After a few decades I just assume at some point I will be asked to leave.
There is definitely no job security, everyone should assume they are next in line. Sadly this isn’t the isn’t the company i joined 11 years ago beware beware
