Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Any STL want to spill the beans?

Rumor has it that all STLs must report to their regional office and then be the opening leadership in the store the next morning for some big announcement. Any STLs know anything about this? Or have any sort of inclination of what it could be about?

it's pretty much self evident that it's an announcement about another plan demic...we cleaned up during the last one or it's something innocuous that everyone swall0ws hook line and sinker like there are now 228 stores in development so all is well and the hammer drops

Seen on interview today that all Store Leaders must have their Amazon laptop onboarded by 9/11. Probably telling them they fall under the Amazon banner and no longer WFM just a guess.

@3mj they’ve done it before Amazon came in to show they were cutting back while having to reverse course. But they’ll do it again.

Well, what’s coming Can’t be good. The team member survey is usually held during the month of team member appreciation. Anyone noticed that they’re making you fill it out earlier? This is so they don’t get so hammered with what they’re about to roll out. More than likely they’re moving to multi team stores. This will get rid of assistant store team leaders, and a lot of team leaders and assistant team leaders. The multi team stores only have one team leader and two assistant team leaders for three or more departments. The only reason I’m saying this is probably gonna happen is every new store that they’ve opened is ran like this.

Neither does WFM it was always just a way for them to je-k themselves off and pretend to care. If you respond that means you think your opinion means something which it doesn’t.

ASTLs will also be let go. With combination teams, the need for leadership is minimal. It's going to take the form of like a Trader Joe's, but with Amazon oversight. Everyone does everything so they are able to schedule at a minimum. Amazon will continue to push out those tenured team members who are at cap, so they're able to employe cheaper for the same output. Your Honeywell device is mandatory for all shifts, everyone will have one - it will log "time off task" ex. When you go to the bathroom, so if you are "off task" for more than 5 minutes, that is grounds for a write up, and possible termination. You will no longer have a TMS person - it's Amazon now. HR is there to protect the company. Good luck trying to get unemployment when you get fired, because you will. Amazon has the best legal team and denied everyone's unemployment claim, legitimate or not.

Post ID: @1pc+1kytxfn6d

@1p5 it's happening this year - SSS, OW, ATLs, stockers, cashiers, all gone because teams will be combining into "perishable/non perishable" the severance will be one week for every six months worked, capping out at 20 weeks pay, COBRA will kick in and people will be insured for six months after the layoffs, PTO will be paid out, as well as HSA funds. Sept 10th is when the meeting for STLs will take place and all of this will come down officially. Until then, work and bank your PTO. Amazon is cleaning house. SFAs are also on the chopping block. UKGPro is about to turn stores upside down and make it impossible for anyone to request a day off or have a decent schedule. If you are only available in the day hours, expect to get about 15 hours a week, if you don't have open availability, you will be pushed out. If you have open availability expect turn around shifts, and shifts for things that you are not trained to do if you want full time hours. Amazon is here and it will be run like a fulfillment center, be prepared to be tracked on your 10min break - bathroom time counts as "time off task" which you will be written up for. 15% of store staff will be heading to the furloughs. It's a skeleton crew from here on out, and if you cannot get the work done, you will be written up and let go for "job performance" so you're unable to collect unemployment.
