Seems like so many comments about rumors on multiple threads about the recent layoffs but no real confirmation from actual groups or teams hit. News reports mentioning thousands are their way out the door in 2026 so we should be hearing of more that have happened this time.

@k5 He they are mostly getting rid of dead weight. So everything should be fine
@k5 I only know of three names so far, but read that the firmware group was hit hard so I'm guessing that means a lot of folks.
@ht not to worry, AI is going to do everything. I've only heard of great people gone. How many have you heard off?
Dell has offices and different departments all over the place. They have lawyers that know how to make the firings exist under the radar.
The only accurate gauge of employees is the 10-K that comes out at the beginning of the year. Anything else is pure speculation.
Firmware got hit so incredibly hard by this that I can't imagine we can support all the products in the pipeline. There's either some huge strategy shift us peons aren't aware of, or things about to catch on fire everywhere.
maybe we'll hear about the big data domain breach that happened.
lots of "agile *" people were let go around me. I've heard it is still ongoing and i might get slashed as well.
@OP So many are locked into NDA's when they are kicked out. Hence, many just take their severance & don't say a word.
Also, how many even KNOW about this chat board?
The ones I know personally that were cut are Caucasian, U.S. based & generally long term IC's that were NOT performance issues.
Basically a salary dump & seem to have concentrated on remotes.
But hey...JC, MD & the other sacred cows make another bazillion that they dont need so its all good.
@OP Dont be impatient, your turn is coming
Was let go today, in SC
What I can say, these numbers are scattered. You'll never know when a layoff happens because they're under radar.
10 today. 3 redundant positions next week. Someone hit by a HR misdemeanor...
Consistent numbers monthly, bloodbaths twice a year.
Anyway, I miss working there, the pay worth.
For sure idrac development. But numbers are fuzzy.
ISG powerstore was badly hit … they have targeted remote workers and many retired. In the name of AI they are sc--wing up good folks.
I'ts not that easy in EU for instance. The've to negotiate with Unions. This takes time.
