Was told last week I'm benched. Part of Bridge. The insurance customer funding us dried up several months ago. Should I have started applying last week? I'm hopeful I can placed internally.
I haven't interview prepped in years. I heard the job market is seriously different than when they were handing out jobs like candy during COVID. how cooked am I?
Went through this over 2 years ago myself, and I used the time to get a job and get industry certification. Looking back, it is a good thing that I got out of Kyndryl, which is a sinking ship. Getting out of it sooner the better, this is the opportunity for you to give yourself a push. Only regret that I had was that I actually wasted some of my time looking for an internal Kyndryl job. Don't waste your time. If you are in US, most likely you wont get an internal Kyndryl job, and even if you did, only to repeat this in a few more months. Take care and good luck!

I was benched in April, laid off since end of June. Job market is tough right now as there is a lot of noise recruiters have to sift through looking for real applicants.
Try to land internally while you search outside for a more stable company. KD financials are a mess and it will takes many quarters of cuts to turn things around. Also, very good chance another company buys KD at distressed (current) prices....consider what is best for you and your family....it,s likely a job outside of Kyndryl...good luck in your search!
Gonna have to toughen up. Trying to stay or find something at IBM will turn into more misery.
Did your Bench manager give you access to the internal job site yet? The US job market is horrible. The best option is find something internal but opening is very few. I think you can also apply job one band up or down. Some bench manager are good and willing to help. Many others just treat them as temporary head count until the final day. Also, call your IBM connection if you are from IBM. They has more openings. Check Kyndryl external job site, some job was post on the external site only. Good Luck.
